Mike Andrews has been in
the toy business from the age of six, scampering through Harlem delivering doll
parts for his mother's Alice in Wonderland figures. He grew into a designer,
gizmo-maker and sculptor in L.A., the capital of cool. After many years
designing toys for a large company, he has broken out with his own homage to
his longhaired Dachshunds Laszlo and Zazie. The characters you see embody
the cool of classic movies and the great tiki bars of LA.. They express the secret
longings of small dogs, where László’s name acquires mysterious accent marks
and Zazie’s wardrobe barks Style with a capital S. Redolent of the adventure, intrigue and
suavity of the Thin Man, James Bond, Thomas Crown, and Jackie Chan. László
is able to sniff out action and a martini in the direst of situations. Zazie
always up for an adventure as long as the champagne is cold and her purse matches
her outfit.
